SatMusic journalist and enthusiast Artem Mararskiy speaks to Dasha Rush about her artistic ideas, music production, nonstop touring schedules, and the vision behind her Fullpanda imprint.
Artem Makarsky is the Music Editor of Russian online magazine Look At Me and the curator of its Friday Mix series. He previously has worked as Editor in Chief at Afisha-Volna and as writer for Afisha, Wonderzine and other sites, zines and magazines. Makarsky is an expert for contemporary Russian music, and loves cassette labels and modern electronic music. He is the one and only author of the now half-disfunct zine Foggy Youth where he used to write on Russian music.
Dasha Rush is Russian-born but a citizen of the world. Combining her activities as a techno producer with releases on her own Fullpanda label and recently on Raster Noton, a busy DJ schedule, and multi-artistic collaborations alongside artists and dancers, Rush puts forth a mixture of rather rare techno experimentation and synthesized sounds most akin to the brief movement of underground music whose roots partially extend back to the early 20th century and rise through significant art movements to the present.
